Phil San Filippo

Phil San Filippo, Chair

City of Las Cruces

Phil San Filippo currently serves as Director for the Economic Development Department for the City of Las Cruces. Phil moved to New Mexico in March 2012 to take on the Executive Director position for the Las Cruces Convention and Visitors Bureau. Mr. San Filippo previously lived in South Florida where he worked in various aspects of the hospitality and tourism industry for over 30 years.

Antoinette Vigil

Antoinette Vigil, Vice Chair

Sandoval County

Antoinette Vigil is a Manager at the Office of Business Development and Tourism for Sandoval County. She has held multiple public service positions on the local and state level including the State of New Mexico Economic Development Department. In her current position, she is responsible for the coordination and implementation of short and long term objectives that promote the County’s tourism and economic growth opportunities, identify uses of a variety of media for marketing and promotion including social media, websites, print and broadcast media, as well as collaborate and participate with numerous resource partners and organizations to fortify those efforts. She has held positions that had a tourism or community development focus - serving as a Chamber CEO, MainStreet Executive Director, PR/Special Events Coordinator, and Film Commission Chair.

Brendon Smith, Secretary

Lamar Advertising

Brendon Smith is currently the Sales Manager for Lamar Advertising New Mexico/ El Paso TX. Brendon has been in this position for 5 years following a promotion and relocation from Lamar Advertising in Asheville NC where he was an Account Executive. His current duties include supervising the sales of over 2000 billboards throughout New Mexico and El Paso. Prior to working for Lamar, Brendon was in the hospitality industry in his hometown of Pensacola FL for 8 years. He resides in Albuquerque with his wife and two children.

Christine Wight, Treasurer

Angel Fire Resort

Christine is the Executive Director of Hospitality at Angel Fire Resort. She has 20+ years of experience in hospitality sales, marketing and management in Resort locations in Rhode Island, Colorado and New Mexico. Currently Christine sits on the Sales Advisory Board for HSMAI (Hospitality Sales & Marketing Assn Intl), Member Solutions Advisory Board for NTA (Natl Tour Assn) and is a member of the Enchanted Circle Marketing Coop team.

Tonya Stinson

Tonya Stinson, Past Chair

Farmington Convention & Visitors Bureau

Tonya Stinson is the Executive Director of the Farmington Convention & Visitors Bureau where she has worked since 2000. Tonya is a member of several tourism related organizations and serves as Chair of the New Mexico Hospitality Association as well as being the City of Farmington and San Juan County endorsed liaison to the New Mexico Film Office. In 2015, she was appointed to the Governor’s Council on Film and Media Industries.


Belia Alvarez

Heritage Hotels and Resorts 

Belia Alvarez, Director of Hospitality and Hilton Garden Inn General Manager As Director of Hospitality, Belia Alvarez sets the standard of hospitality instilled in Heritage Hotels & Resorts team members, and especially those who work with our VIP guests. She is also the General Manager of the Hilton Garden Inn located in Las Cruces. Ed Pulsifer

La Fonda on the Plaza

Ed is a Native New Mexican, born and raised in Albuquerque. He has thirty years of hospitality sales and marketing experience in New Mexico ranging from single property branded hotel, Convention and Visitors Bureau, multiple property Independent hotels and historic hotels.

Tania Armenta

Visit Albuquerque 

Tania Armenta is the President & CEO of Visit Albuquerque and has been with the organization for 18 years.  She is a forward-thinking and proven leader known for building partnerships to reach goals as well as developing strong and talented teams.  She serves on several other local and national boards including the U.S. Travel Association’s Destinations Council and Ski New Mexico. Tania was recently named one of Smart Meetings 2016 Smart Women in Meetings award recipients.  

Travis Suazo

Travis Suazo


Travis L. Suazo currently serves as Tribal Accounts Manager for PNM. Suazo previously served as the Executive Director of the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, Inc. (IPCC). He is from the Pueblos of Laguna, Acoma and Taos. In December 2012, became the permanent Executive Director of the IPCC.

Adrian Montoya

Hotel Albuquerque

Montoya was born and raised in Albuquerque’s South Valley and graduated from Rio Grande High School in 2003. Montoya started as a bellman at Sheraton Old Town (now Hotel Albuquerque at Old Town) and followed a path through several leadership roles. With Heritage Hotels & Resorts, Montoya has served as Corporate Director of Operations, as General Manager of Hotel Plaza Real (now Hotel Chimayo de Santa Fe) and as General Manager of Nativo Lodge. In 2009, Montoya left Heritage Hotels & Resorts to become the Director of Guest Services at La Fonda on the Plaza in Santa Fe. He returned to Heritage Hotels & Resorts in 2015 as the Regional General Manager for Hotel St. Francis and Hotel Chimayo in Santa Fe. In 2016, he returned to Hotel Albuquerque, where Montoya began his career, to serve as General Manager. As General Manager for Hotel Albuquerque, Montoya oversees over 300 employees. Montoya also served as Board Chair for the American Red Cross in 2016 and currently serves on the board for the Greater Albuquerque Innkeepers Association, along with his new appointment to the NMHA Board of Directors.

Stephen Smith

Total Management Systems

Stephen has served in hospitality since 2002. He recently joined Total Management Systems. His primary focus is to work toward achieving the company’s vision. His responsibilities include revenue and profitability performance oversight of the entire portfolio, building the desired culture, and strengthening the company’s infrastructure. He has expertise in all aspects of hotel operations with proficiency in marketing, food, beverage, and technology. As a visionary and leader, Stephen has established strategic plans where every hotel will consistently achieve or exceed the brand’s standards, revenue indexes and out-perform the marketplace. Stephen is keenly focused on guest satisfaction, associate engagement, training and developing top performers. He is an integral part of the management group and his high level of expertise will contribute to the company’s aggressive growth plans.

Prior to joining Total Management Systems, Stephen was with GF Hotels where he served for three years. As a task force expert, he successfully converted hotels to new brands, opened hotels, closed hotels and worked with management to improve underperforming hotels. His short term assignments were in every type of market, from Ohio to Alaska. He has brand experience within the IHG, Hilton, Marriott, Wyndham and Choice franchises.

Stephen is a 2004 graduate of Youngstown State University where he earned a degree in Hospitality. He served as chapter treasurer of the Hospitality Management Association and was nominated for membership to the Centarians organization.

Lindsay Lancaster

Indian Pueblo Cultural Center

Lancaster currently serves as Director of Marketing for the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center (IPCC) and Indian Pueblos Marketing, Inc. (IPMI), where she primarily works to promote museum exhibits and cultural programming at the IPCC, Shumakolowa Native Arts and the Pueblo Harvest Café. Over the last 18 years, Lancaster has served the Albuquerque community in various sectors, including non-profit, retail, business-to-business and business-to-consumer. Lancaster describes her career as mission-driven throughout the course of her professional pursuits. Prior to the IPCC, Lancaster worked with Animal Humane, Flying Star Café/Satellite Coffee and Ben E. Keith Food Distributors. Lancaster is also heavily involved in her community by volunteering with nonprofits such as the Assistance League and the Storehouse New Mexico. Lancaster was also named an Albuquerque Business First “Forty Under 40” honoree in 2011.

Mara Bouvier

Sunrise Springs Spa Resort

Bouvier currently serves as the General Manager for Sunrise Springs Spa Resort, and brings a wealth of hospitality experience to the NMHA Board of Directors. Prior to serving as General Manager for Sunrise Springs Spa Resort, Bouvier served as the General Manager at Primland Resort in Virginia for over five years. Bouvier’s career in hospitality has also taken her to world class destinations such as Jumby Bay in Antigua, Strawberry Hill in Jamaica and The Palms in Turks and Caicos to name a few.


John Feins

Meow Wolf

Feins joined Meow Wolf as Director of Marketing in April 2017 after serving as Public Relations Manager at the City of Santa Fe Convention & Visitors Bureau. Feins joins the NMHA Board of Directors with a diverse background of strategic communications experience, including journalism and publishing, music and entertainment, retail, nonprofit, high technology, financial services, advanced manufacturing and federal and municipal government.
